I downed my weary body
to drift into the night
then came a lull in thinking
I slipped the daily fight

and ambled to harmonic lands
the gates were shut but soon
the Unseen Lady took my hand
and dowsed me with perfume

I cradled her, she bathed me
and then she drew the gate
the breath in me was blasphemy
her rhythm gave rebate

we parted then by sleep’s demand
I wake alone at dawn
my day ahead is not her land
but fragrance lingers on

saying anytime you want me
be tender that is all
I am your Unseen Lady
I thought – and built a wall
