when you go to a place where the sun don’t shine
the soul flees your dreams so they torture your mind
you hold on with hope but it gets you so far
so you think about death and with it you spar
at first it’s a thought that you know just ain’t right
you’ll give it the weekend each minute a night
you make it ‘til Monday beyond black and blue
invisible forces have crucified you
your pain is a monster that justifies death
to die or to suffer gargantuan depths
now some somehow end it I did have my doubts
to anyone thinking just hear my words out
I’m not gonna lecture in words you well know
on more guts in living, how you’d tear a hole
but take for the journey, take this for the road
each moment got on with helps break the day’s load
do not heed their flavour when faced with an ask
enough for the present to do well a task
it’s nothing of course to full satisfaction
but feelings run rife in absence of action
so do what you must do and then what you can
and find some kind ears who will listen and stand
right by you no matter the shade of the sky
the first word’s the hardest but give it a try
or run ‘til the sweat rolls, it eases most cares
you know what they say, you can win if you dare
now Nirvana is still not something I teach
but the less that I care the more I’m in reach
keep your eyes off the heavens and focused on earth
what’s craved for so badly is sure to desert
to aim quarter way is surely quite prudent
the master can rarely skip being a student
