System Wins

as I dream of Eden scenes
and wake with unseen bounty
Spirit’s calling me
to raise these un-cogged bones
shattered by the cranking
of levers in a system
that I have tried to play

so Spirit break the spells
consume what’s killing me
all my racing thoughts
in the bolt beneath the crossfire
of the pagan marketplaces

let us play a different game
System wins
for now
and I don’t really mind
